Everyone's Doing It

I'm a sucker for memes, and this one looked like lots of fun, especially since I figured the world could get a nice laugh out of seeing some of my old art XD

Even though it took a while, this was pretty fun to put together, and it was funny to go through some of my oldest art that probably hasn't seen any light for years.

2004 and 2006 were my busiest art years, and in 2004 is when I improved the most. I can't say when I "started" drawing, or what "first inspired me to draw". Nothing ever really got me started in art, I've just been drawing for as long as I can remember. I was probably born with a pencil in my hand.

Words of Wisdom:

I remember back when I would get stuck in ruts, and I'd think my art was terrible, and I never liked anything I drew because it was never good enough. I remember when I had an amazing picture in my head, but once it was on paper it looked like a pile of crap, and I just couldn't get my hand to draw what was in my mind.

But somewhere in that mess I got inspiration, and I kept drawing. No matter how many times I wanted to light my paper on fire in frustration, I just kept drawing. The only thing that can come out of that is improvement, and that's what I did. I practiced and practiced, and I improved, which is exactly what you can do too.

Every artist you admire was at one time inexperienced and untrained, and they had to learn to improve along the way.

So if you ever feel that you'll "never be that good" or that you "can't draw like that", just remember that every artist had to start somewhere, and that if you keep pushing on, one day you will look back and see how much you've improved, and how far you've come.
